Get Involved with SPIRIT
Volunteer opportunities, partnerships, and ways to support our mission.
Core Programming
Spirit of South Carolina works with strategically aligned partners to develop programs with impact.
Furman Executive Leadership
Leadership lessons usually happen in a conference room, but Furman University’s executive program takes them to sea aboard Spirit of South Carolina, the state’s official tall ship. Furman brings the curriculum and instructors, and Spirit brings the vessel, crew, and hands-on training.
Harbor of Revolution - SC250
Harbor of Revolution brings South Carolina’s founding story to the waterfront. We invite visitors to trace the ships, people, and ideas that shaped the state’s revolutionary past. Funded by the SC250 Premier Project Grant, the harbor itself becomes the classroom.
Junior Adventure Mariners
This day/overnight camp puts young sailors at the helm of a traditionally rigged tall ship. Day campers steer, tie knots, and navigate Charleston Harbor, while kids 14+ can stay aboard overnight for celestial navigation and a taste of life at sea. Earn a story your mates want to hear.
