About the event
Crew Safety Drill Training — Required for Underway Status
Before we can renew our USCG Certificate of Inspection and get underway with program participants, all crew and watch volunteers must complete hands-on training in our three required safety drills:
Fire Fighting — Locate and operate extinguishers and fire stations, respond to fire alarms by station assignment, and practice containment and communication procedures.
Man Overboard — Spotter duties, alarm procedures, recovery maneuvers, and use of throwable devices and recovery gear.
Abandon Ship — Alarm signals, donning life jackets, mustering by station bill, and launch procedures for survival craft.
NOTE: Training is required before serving aboard during underway operations, and drills will be logged as part of our USCG COI renewal. Sessions run approximately 2 hours aboard. Wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing; all equipment is provided.
