About the event

The African-American experience and contributions to the Maritime Heritage of the Low Country is full of heroic historical characters. Schooners like Spirit of South Carolina  were part of the The Underground Railroad. Join the crew aboard Spirit of South Carolina for a guided experience into the world of seafaring, escapes to freedom, and  contributions of African Americans to the maritime development of the Low country.

  • Tour starts at the top of the hour. Duration-1 hour
  • Guided Tour begins with a welcome at the gangway.
  • Due to limitations of a Fixed-height dock, the  slope of the gangway, the tour cannot accomodate wheelchairs
